LOVERS LEAP
Stepping away from the urban atmosphere to embrace the countryside there is Lovers' Leap in St Elizabeth. Lovers Leap is a 1700 feet cliff which legend state that a young couple of slave lovers leaped to their death to escape from their master who wanted the girl all to himself.
Lovers' Leap has a tremendously exquisite view where one can take in the beauties of the open-air country. There is also a small museum with Indian and other more recent artifacts, as well as a garden with a cactus farm. The entrance fee is only J$100 for adults and J$50 for children. MILK RIVER HOTEL AND SPA Milk River Hotel and Spa is another place of recreation, situated in Milk River, Clarendon (10 minutes away from May Pen). There you can soak away your problems in one of their healing baths or get a massage in their massage parlour. A bath costs J$400 per 15 minutes for adults and J$200 for children under 12.
After your bath, if you so desire, you can get a full body massage for J$3500 or a half body massage for J$2000. There is also a restaurant and bar where you can fill your stomach with delicious local dishes. If you are, however, looking for a complete getaway you can stay over in one of the rooms that costs J$5500 to J$6500 per night with dinner and breakfast included. LITTLE OCHI There is also Little Ochie in Junction, St. Elizabeth that is like a little seafood haven. According to its manager, Everald Christian, "it is a seafood restaurant that goes beyond just being a restaurant, it's also a place of relaxation." Over 75 seafood dishes are available, from fish to shrimp, lobster and crab. The seafood is sold per pound whereas a fish dish will cost only J$550 to J$600 and a lobster dish will cost only J$1000 to J$1200. The price of a meal will, of course, vary depending on the amount served.
Little Ochie is situated on the beachfront of Alligator Pond, where you can sit under one of the gazebos and bask in the sea breeze or enjoy an open sunset while you tantalise your taste buds.
You do not need to get yourself broke to enjoy what Jamaica has to offer and share special moments with your friends or loved ones. All you have to do is know the right places to look.
